2023 was a significant year with regard to Artificial Intelligence (AI). Generative AI transformed lives. Generative AI is a type of AI that produces content by predicting words to form a sentence. In business, Generative AI tools like ChatGPT saved professionals 29.5 hours every week. In 2024, business professionals expect more AI features to make their work easier.
In late December, Google asked people what features they would love to have in Bard in 2024. Bard is Google’s generative AI tool.
Other AI developers conducted similar polls online, and these were the most usual responses:
Improve the accuracy of content and reduce hallucinations
Provide more original and less plagiarized responses
Show empathy and cultural awareness
Explain the thinking process and reduce the black box effect
Improve interoperability between AI and other business tools
Open AI says that in 2023, 80% of the top 500 companies in the USA had ChatGPT accounts. In November, the company’s CEO, Sam Altman, said that Open AI was working on GPT 5, to be released this year.
This new language model is expected to produce better content, understand large amounts of data, and translate countless languages.
Meanwhile, Deepmind, Google’s AI department, has confirmed the scheduled release of Gemini Ultra.
They say that the Gemini Ultra AI tool will be capable of writing computer code and generating content in all formats. Content formats include text, video, audio, and images.
With improvements in AI, 2024 is expected to bring more advancements in business automation. These are the most in-demand features for businesses implementing their AI strategy this year:

When creating emails, reports, or product descriptions, business professionals want AI responses to be more personalized.
Personalization refers to the ability to tailor their outputs to an individual’s needs. This will require AI tools to understand different contexts, process high amounts of data, and create relevant answers to user questions.
In 2023, Gizmodo entered the “AI Hall of Shame” after a series of articles turned out to be inaccurate, irrelevant, and hard to understand. The owner blamed it on AI.
Sports Illustrated deleted hundreds of their articles after it emerged that they were AI-generated. Going into 2024, businesses will want to be able to implement AI without subjecting their brands to shame and ridicule. This requires AI developers to enable their AI technologies with current data and train the models to produce accurate information.
While Generative AI amazed everyone in 2023, business professionals will demand more from their AI investments in 2024.
Besides generating content, experts will want AI tools to help them understand trends and predict behavior. This will empower leaders and their organizations to make informed choices. They will look to AI to directly reduce costs and increase profits.
Open AI fired Sam Altman on November 17, 2023. Many news outlets speculated that the decision was related to an unauthorized breakthrough in artificial general intelligence.
The rumored invention dubbed Q Star could reportedly replace humans in all economically viable tasks.
While no one wants to lose their job to AI this year, many people want to be able to automate more tasks with the technology.
As the year progresses, we might see more advanced AI tools that create strategy plans, reconcile invoices, and oversee robotic process automation.
Businesses spend a lot of money to secure their computing environment. Gartner predicts that businesses will spend $215 billion on security and risk management this year.
Many businesses are now looking to AI to reduce the costs of network monitoring and incident response.
Enterprises will expect the market release of AI-powered cybersecurity tools that can predict and mitigate risks before they occur.
Finding and retaining top talent will be a huge focus for businesses as 2024 progresses. AI can quicken the recruitment process by reviewing resumes and choosing qualified candidates.
Human resource experts will also expect AI to help in initial interviews and employee onboarding.
Even so, Biden’s AI executive order requires organizations to address AI biases in many critical areas, such as HR. AI biases in HR can lead to candidate discrimination.
As AI becomes more powerful, the potential for misuse grows. Businesses have a responsibility to develop and deploy AI ethically, ensuring it is used for good and not for harm. When new businesses experiment with AI in 2024, they will expect the tools to have features for:
Addressing bias
Preventing discrimination
Protecting data privacy
If AI developers address these top 7 AI features, businesses might be able to achieve more productivity and increase profits in 2024. If there is anything to learn from 2023, it is that AI is here to stay, and businesses must begin to use it fully and responsibly.
