Noelia Voigt's resignation from her title as Miss USA 2023 has shed light on a toxic work environment within the organization.

Voigt, who stepped down citing mental health concerns, outlined the toxic culture in an exclusive eight-page resignation letter obtained by ABC News.

In her letter, Voigt pointed fingers at Laylah Rose, the president and CEO of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA organizations, for fostering this environment. '

Voigt accused Rose of poor communication and lack of support during her tenure.

Voigt also revealed instances where she felt unsafe at events, including an alleged incident of sexual harassment at the 2023 Sarasota Christmas Parade.

She claimed the organization neglected her safety by failing to provide proper support.

Furthermore, Voigt disclosed the toll that the toxic work culture had on her physical and mental health. She detailed symptoms of anxiety and stress-related conditions, attributing them to the mistreatment within the organization.

Following Voigt's resignation, Miss Teen USA UmaSofia Srivastava also relinquished her crown, citing a disconnect with the organization's values.

The resignations coincide with Claudia Michelle, a former Miss USA social media manager, quitting her job, citing unprofessionalism within the management.

Sexual Harassment

Noelia Voigt's resignation from her title as Miss USA 2023 shed light on allegations of sexual harassment within the organization.

Voigt detailed an alleged incident at the 2023 Sarasota Christmas Parade where she claimed to have been left alone in a car with a man who made inappropriate statements about entering into a relationship with her.

The handling of this incident by the organization, as described by Voigt, raised concerns about the safety and well-being of participants in such public events.

Hostile Work Environment

In her resignation letter, Voigt accused Laylah Rose, the president and CEO of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA organizations, of being inaccessible and unnecessarily aggressive in her communication.

Voigt claimed that Rose created a hostile work environment by undermining her efforts and painting her as uninterested in her role.

This portrayal of Rose as a cold and spiteful boss raises questions about the leadership style within the organization and its impact on the morale of participants.

Unfair Disciplinary Action

Voigt's letter also highlighted instances where she felt threatened with disciplinary action over small issues.

She claimed that Rose's management style involved constant threats of taking away her salary or other punitive measures for minor infractions.

This atmosphere of fear and intimidation created by the looming threat of disciplinary action adds to the toxic work culture described by Voigt.

Stressful Beauty Standards

The beauty pageant industry is often criticized for perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards, and Voigt's resignation brought attention to the stress and pressure participants face.

Voigt revealed the toll that the pageant's standards had taken on her physical and mental health, including anxiety and hair loss.

In response to the allegations, Laylah Rose emphasized her commitment to the well-being of all individuals associated with Miss USA.

However, the claims made by Voigt and Michelle have sparked calls for transparency and accountability within the pageant community.
